IDK there are so many things, its hard to even think of what would be best to post here. Admittedly, the tips and tricks could really use a central thread. Things are kind of all over the place.

Sikyou tip of the day...learn about root and then do it. I'll be there in a week or 2

I agree.. it's the one true flaw I've discovered here.. maybe I'll get bored and make a link list with headers at the least.. kinda like a FAQ list. I tend to have spare time on my hands most days.

Good idea and wish it was done when i first got the phone Sad with moderate use my battery cant last 4 hours lol and moderate use for me is texting every few minutes (mainly because Handcent lags on me all the time now). Conditioning the battery would have helped as well as not keeping it on charge when I'm near a power souce

We need to make Tips and Tricks it's own section honestly...
Maybe a Read Only section for all guests to browse through different tips and tricks, and the section could be like 4 times the size of all the other subforums, so it will maybe draw the attention of new comers who have an itch to ask the the annoying and bothersome questions Smiley lol

I'm on it.  I haven't done much editing of the site, but I think it's about time I roll up my sleeves and get dirty.

I might as well, I'm completing my Bachelors degree in Database Admin, It's probably a good idea to take on this task.  Wink

Let me know if anything goes wrong with my attempts, that you guys can see.

Sorry, folks, took yesterday "off", per se. Hope everyone had a pleasant Easter, I know my kids did.. what goodies we missed, the Grandparents got them.

I agree, a main header for Tips and Tricks would be great, I would of loved one myself. I know there is a search function having used it a few times myself, but most people just don't like to for some reason. And sometimes their issue(s) are just enough different to make a fresh post worthwhile. I know on some forums, people HATE it when a newbie brings back some old post from last year to ask a question on it.
Anyway, unless I'm hearing "stop", I'll keep updating this one till the other is ready.


Added 15 or so more links above, Apps stuff mostly. Now I'm gonna go eat a cookie or 6 and stare down the road looking for that dang FedEx truck.  Sad

I know this may be a dead subject, but I thought I would put my own experiences down here, as well, in case it helps.

I have had a work blackberry for a while, so I am familiar with VZW tethering service (honestly, VZW can't wait to rape the uninformed). I use a Dell laptop with Win7 Home Prem, x64. I downloaded EasyTether (free) to my Dinc and installed it, then downloaded & installed DInc(?) drivers to my laptop, as suggested by EasyTether.

If I go into Settings>Applications>Development and select "USB debugging," then connect my DInc via USB and select "Disk Drive" as the interface, EasyTether works like a charm - for those rare occasions my laptop and I are not at work or at home, this is a great feature (and thank god I still have unlimited data ;-) )

I found out that if you pull down the notification tap but don't want to slide it back up you can just hit the button in the middle.
